Day 5 Ars and Paray-Le-Monial

Well, we woke up in Troyes this morning and headed out to Ars, the town/village of St. John Marie Vianney, the Cure of Ars or Pastor of Ars. He is known as the Patron Saint of all Parish Priests. He was responsible for the conversion of his village who had been living in sin. Through the prayers and suffering done for his beloved "lost", he was able to bring them back to the church. His humility is something to be emulated. We saw his body as he lay incorrupt.
After a charming trip to the very small town of Ars, we were off to Paray-Le-Monial to visit the Chapel of the Sacred Heart where Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart to now St Margaret Mary Alacoque. The Lord appeared to her 3 times and spoke of His burning love that His heart could not contain. He asked her to spread the word of His love and to bring others to adore His Sacred Heart. St. Margaret Mary was a cloistered nun without contact with the outside world. Her body lies incorrupt in the Chapel of teh Apparitions. We celebrated Mass in that Sacred place in the very place where Jesus appeared. A thought not easily grasped. Amazing and inspiring.
Tomorrow we will visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and then onto Nevers to see St. Bernadette...Check out he pictures.
